The conference is the first annual virtual conference in observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Autism Awareness. COVID 19 pandemic has brought many challenges to families due to job loss and food inescurity along with family stress. Child Abuse has been on rise due to many factors that this conference hopes to address with a focus on trauma informed care so that families can become more resilient and providers learn information to assist with family resiliency.

EVENT DETAILS

Day 1, April 23rd: is an interactive experience with contents, prizes, poetry breaks, exhibitors, career/intership fair, #hashtag and conference forums, 7 CEUs, and so much more! The theme focus is trauma informed care to reduce child abuse during the COVID 19 pandemic and beyond with information sessions and other conference activities for professionals, educators, college students, and parents. The conference is 8 am to 5 pm CST via WHOVA virtual platform, in which registered attendees will receive an email with the link and instructions to login at least 48-24 hours prior to the conference. After the conference attendees will be emailed the Continuing Education Contact Verification Form. Note:  Tuskegee University College of Arts and Sciences Department of Social Work is an approved CEU provider by the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners, as a CSWE accredited university, for licensed social workers. Those out of the state or from other licensed professions must seek CEU approval from your licensing board. Attendees not licensed will not need a CEU approval form for CE credit.

Day 2, April 24th:  is an interactive FREE virtual conference with a family hour activity plus prizes! Let's all learn how to be resilient during COVID 19 through education, fun, and activities! Families can expect two interactive presentations with a chance to win a prize and a family resiliency hour activity! Families can enter the Resiliency Photo Contest to win a family prize as well. Prior to the event, snap a photo of your family wearing something Blue in support of Child Abuse prevention or something mulitcolor in support of Autism Awareness with a caption of up to two words about what your photo pose represents (e.g. strength, growth, etc.). 

During the conference families will have a chance to share photos and resiliency messages through the conference #hashtag!  Prior to the conference youth can color a Pinwheel in support of Child Abuse Prevention click Pinwheel Coloring Sheet to print a colorsheet page to color, then snap a picture of it to share during the conference Pinwheel showcase! The conference is 10 am to 2 pm CST via WHOVA virtual platform, in which registered attendees will receive an email with the link and instructions to login at least 48-24 hours prior to the conference. To register click DAY 2 Conference Registeration
